About a soldier who suffers PTSD after war and eventually commits suicide.

5 Jeremy - Pearl Jam

A boy committed suicide in class. "Jeremy spoke in class today... Try to forget this, try to erase this from the blackboard".

This song sounds so happy that people rarely associate it with suicide but it is about suicide ("Jump! ").
David Lee Roth has given various accounts of the meaning behind the lyrics, but he usually says they are about a T.V. news story he saw where a man was about to kill himself by jumping off a building (Roth thought, "Might as well jump").

Amazing song, on my favourite album, by my favourite band. Legendary, and very very meaningful.

8 Never Too Late - Three Days Grace

I am appalled that I had to add this song to the list! It should've already been on here. This song literally saved my life when I was half way through a suicide attempt. I know people say that about music all the time, but I honestly don't know if I'd still be here if it wasn't for this song.
The lyrics are so deep and Adam's vocal performance is so emotional. Then all you have to do is add in the amazing guitar riff and awesome video clip and you have the best anti-suicide song of all time.
Play this at my funeral!

This song has nothing to do with suicide. It talks about how dangerous alcohol is.

GC wrote this song for all those people who feel like giving up on life, telling them to hold on. This song saved my life when I was considering suicide. If it can do that, I think it deserves the top spot on this list.
